Trading API comparisons

How to choose a trading API

Start where your account is

If you already hold an account at a broker or exchange, use its API: it sees the same balances and positions as its app.

Check how it authenticates

API-key REST takes minutes. OAuth needs a browser login and token refresh; gateways need a running desktop process; wallet or RSA signing needs an SDK.

Paper trade first

Use the paper, testnet or demo environment until the bot has run for weeks without surprises, then go live small.
