Quick answer
Coinbase Advanced Trade API is Coinbase’s current trading API (the Coinbase Pro API is retired). Protected REST calls carry a short-lived JWT bearer token that you sign per request with a Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) API key using ES256 or Ed25519, so plain HMAC code from the old Pro API no longer works. An official Python SDK (coinbase-advanced-py) handles the signing.

Why old Coinbase Pro code breaks
Pro-era keys signed requests with HMAC-SHA256. Advanced Trade keys are CDP keys: a key name and a private key. For each request you build a JWT containing the method and path, sign it, and send Authorization: Bearer <jwt>. JWTs expire after two minutes.
Build a Coinbase Advanced Trade strategy with AlgoGP
AlgoGP does not connect to Coinbase Advanced Trade natively yet. Coinbase Advanced Trade requires asymmetric or wallet signatures (JWT, RSA-PSS or EIP-712) that the standard-library Python AlgoGP exports cannot produce without an extra library.
