data_sources.fear_greed_index() returns {date: value}. Contrarian strategies buy extreme fear and trim extreme greed; trend strategies do the reverse and avoid entries in fear. Because the index is published once a day, act on yesterday’s value at today’s open to avoid look-ahead.
