IEX Cloud was a favourite developer API for US stock prices and fundamentals until it closed in 2024. Code that still calls cloud.iexapis.com needs a new provider.

Quick answer

IEX Cloud shut down on August 31, 2024; its API endpoints no longer serve data. Replacements depend on what you used: Massive (Polygon), Alpaca or Tiingo for US prices, Financial Modeling Prep, Finnhub or EODHD for fundamentals and global coverage, and Intrinio for licensed commercial data. IEX Exchange itself still operates and publishes its own exchange data.

Build an IEX Cloud strategy with AlgoGP

AlgoGP does not connect to IEX Cloud natively yet. IEX Cloud has no supported public trading or data API.

    Every project exports strategy.py, market_data.py, brokers.py and live.py. The strategy only sees bars, cash, positions and orders, never a vendor’s wire format.

    Plug in IEX Cloud

    Implement the four adapter methods (account, positions, submit_market_order and a candle fetcher) with IEX Cloud’s SDK, or keep a built-in platform for paper trading and add IEX Cloud when you go live.
