Before you start
- A wallet connected to Hyperliquid (testnet first)
- Funds deposited for live trading
Create your Hyperliquid API key
- 1
Open the API page
In the Hyperliquid app, go to More → API (
app.hyperliquid.xyz/API). - 2
Generate an API wallet
Name it and click Generate; copy the agent private key.
- 3
Authorize it
Click Authorize API Wallet and sign with your main wallet. Optionally set an expiry.
- 4
Store both values
Save
HYPERLIQUID_ACCOUNT_ADDRESS(main wallet, public) andHYPERLIQUID_AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY.
Test the key
Before wiring the key into a strategy, make one request by hand. It separates “the key is wrong” from “my code is wrong”.
curl -s -X POST https://api.hyperliquid.xyz/info -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"type":"clearinghouseState","user":"'$HYPERLIQUID_ACCOUNT_ADDRESS'"}'Keep the credentials safe
- Store values in a password manager or a git-ignored
.env, never in code or notebooks you share. - In an AlgoGP project you can still add them under APIs & keys (encrypted at rest) and read them with
strategy_runtime.secrets.get("HYPERLIQUID_ACCOUNT_ADDRESS"). - Give each bot its own credential so you can revoke one without stopping the others.

HYPERLIQUID_AGENT_PRIVATE_KEY=paste-your-value-hereDesign and backtest your Hyperliquid strategy first
AlgoGP turns an idea into Python and tests it on years of history before you connect it to Hyperliquid. The exported code keeps the broker behind four small adapter methods.
- AI copilot writes and revises the rules
- Backtests with realistic costs
- Exported Python ready to wire to Hyperliquid

AlgoGP is not affiliated with Hyperliquid. Menus get renamed from time to time; if a label differs, the official documentation has the current path.
