AlgoGP’s event-driven strategies already read SEC filings for free; adding an FMP key on the server lets the LLM read earnings call transcripts too, and selecting FMP as the data platform makes the local runners load its end-of-day prices.

Plans and limits

The free plan allows 250 requests per day and covers end-of-day prices and core statements for a limited universe; going over returns 429. Paid plans raise the limit per minute and add intraday data, more history, international listings and transcripts.

Use Financial Modeling Prep in AlgoGP

Open a project, go to the APIs & keys tab and, under Platforms, pick Financial Modeling Prep as the market data source (market_data.py). The choice is saved to config.json as a new strategy version:

{
  "platforms": {
    "data": "financial-modeling-prep",
    "broker": "alpaca"
  }
}
In-app backtests always use AlgoGP’s normalized history so results stay comparable; this choice decides what backtest.py and live.py connect to when you run the exported code.
